World Chess Championship Match 2012 - 10th to 31st May, 2012 - Moscow
The World Chess Championship 2012 between the defending World Champion Viswanathan Anand and the challenger from the Candidates Matches Boris Gelfand will take place in State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Russia. The prize fund ($2.55 million) is split 60-40 between the winner and loser of the championship. One million wishes for Viswanathan Anand.

on 2nd to 6th May, 2012 at Brilliant Grammar High School, Dilsukhnagar, Hyderabad.
Silver Jubilee Brilliant Trophy AP State Senior Champion - T. Purushothaman drew his last round against Abhilas Reddy and won the Championship. While Deepthamsh Reddy drew his game with D. Bala Chandra Prasad on second borad; on third board Sandeep Naidu beat Praveen Prasad, on fourth board Venkatarama beat Rajasekhar.
T. Purushothaman of Hyderabad, Deepthamsh Reddy of Mahaboobnagar, Abhilash Reddy of Kadapa and Sandeep Naidu of Kakinada will represent National Challengers Chess Championship 2012 at Tirupathi.

Grandmaster Harikrishna entered into the elite Group A
GM P. Harikrishna won the Group B title and became the second Indian to enter Group A of the Tata Steel chess tournament.
Harikrishna earned an entry into the elite Group A in the 75th edition of the event which will be held in 2013.
APCA congratulates Harikrishna for the special achievement.

Lalith Babu became 4th Grandmaster in chess from Andhra Pradesh and 26th player in India to attain this honour.
Lalith Babu closed the final norm for GM title at Hastings Grandmasters Chess Championship at London on Thursday, 5th January, 2012.
